| Another Award For Subaru Legacy |
|
| |
Sole Winner of GRANDPRIX Title for 2009-2010 in JNCAP |
| |
|
The Subaru Legacy has clinched the GRANDPRIX title for 2009-2010 in the Japan New
Car Assessment Program (JNCAP). This is the fifth time that the Legacy has been
recognised for its safety record. The Award adds to the list of safety honours that
the Legacy has bagged in the past three years. In 2009, it was honoured with the Top
Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). In the same
year, the Subaru Legacy won the top 5-star rating in both the Australasian New Car
Assessment Program (ANCAP) and the European New Car Assessment Program (ENCAP).

The JNCAP is an annual evaluation programme that administers a battery of controlled
crash and rollover tests on vehicles to determine crash-worthiness and rollover safety.
The Legacy was the only car to clinch the prestigious GRANDPRIX title for 2009-2010,
an accolade given only to a car that achieves the highest score in collision-safety
and pedestrian head-protection performance tests. The Legacy also achieved a high
Level 4 rating in the rear seat passengers' protection performance evaluation during
a frontal offset collision test, as well as in a whiplash injury protection test.
Both of these tests were adopted this year in an effort to provide a more comprehensive
safety evaluation. After battling it out with other contenders, Subaru's highly-applauded
executive sedan emerged top of the class with its stellar performance in all the safety
tests conducted.

"The Legacy has been commended time and again for its impressive safety record and
features," said Ms. Hannah Tan, Regional Marketing Manager for Motor Image Group.
"It is one of our most popular models because of its excellent drivability and
cutting-edge safety technology," she added.
